My first thought was, that was neat. Now how many codes will you be sorting out for the few years after pulling that stunt?

All of the codes, all of the time. The CEL never disappears.

I’ve done this, but with more revs. This video doesn’t give the full effect - shakes the house!

There shouldn’t be any codes. That’s after the resonator. The cats are further forward. It’s like straight pipping it but you risk actually setting your car on fire with this mod. Or just suffocating from carbon monoxide in stop and go traffic.

Am I wrong to think the electronics are that sensitive. That you wouldn’t need to do some computer work tuning the new setup. Modern cars are smart enough to adapt, but they can certainly struggle even with smaller environmental changes.

You got me curious so I did some more reading on O2 sensors. It looks like if you sit in one spot then that could cause an issue since the O2 sensors sample outside air to base their measurements. So basically the ambient air would get polluted by the early exit of the exhaust.

If you’re driving then the air under the car should keep clearing out so it would be business as usual. The engine back pressure at the headers would be different but it wouldn’t throw it off too much since you’ve still got the cats in there which are the majority of the resistance. Hence why catbacks don’t add any gain in power in modern cars.

Little puppy in the house + Neighbor attached house (duplex) + Their little puppy in their house = Quick start up, mini revs, then off.

Oh, I get it. When I revved mine with everything off, just to like 3 or 4k, my wife came out in the garage to see WHAT THE HELL? was going on. I have video of it, with me cackling like a hyena... =)
